Elizabeth McNeil

Elizabeth McNeil, MFA, PhD, taught learners from six to ninety-three for over three decades through Arizona State University, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, community colleges, prisons, churches, schools, and arts organizations. She currently offers workshops for children and adults in memoir, travel, fiction, poetry, and academic writing, and serves as a writing consultant and editor. Specializing in creative writing and women’s and American ethnic literatures and film, her publications include the poetry collections Ms. X’s Ocean and Why We Need to Come Home; a monograph, Trickster Discourse: Mediating Transformation for a New World; and the scholarly collections Sapphire’s Literary Breakthrough: Erotic Literacies, Feminist Pedagogies, Environmental Justice Perspectives, and Mapping Queer Space(s) of Praxis and Pedagogy.
